The College Delegates Attend China-Africa TVET Cooperation Consortium Annual Conference 2024 and China-Africa-UNESCO High-Level Dialogue on Cooperation in Education and Cultural Heritage Protection

From September 5th to 6th, a series of events for the China-Africa Cooperation Forum were held in Beijing. President Ma Yuxia was invited to attend China-Africa TVET Cooperation Consortium Annual Conference 2024 and China-Africa-UNESCO High-Level Dialogue on Cooperation in Education and Cultural Heritage Protection.

From September 5th to 6th, a series of events for the China-Africa Cooperation Forum were held in Beijing. President Ma Yuxia was invited to attend China-Africa TVET Cooperation Consortium Annual Conference 2024 and China-Africa-UNESCO High-Level Dialogue on Cooperation in Education and Cultural Heritage Protection.

The theme of China-Africa TVET Cooperation Consortium Annual Conference 2024 was Vocational Collaboration between China and Africa, Empowering the Future: Jointly Writing a New Chapter of Cooperative Development. The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education of China, the China Education Association for International Exchange, the Association of African Universities of Technology and Applied Sciences, AVIC International Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, as well as 46 Chinese vocational institutions and African partners. Wu Yan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, stated in his speech that education is the foundation of enduring prosperity. China has established 61 Confucius Institutes, 48 Confucius Classrooms, and 17 Luban Workshops in Africa. China will continue to enrich the substance of China-Africa educational cooperation, strive to transform Africa's demographic dividend into a talent dividend, actively explore vocational education development models suitable for Africa, create more brand projects, further build cooperation platforms, and organize the 2024 World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference. The meeting also marked the release of the first batch of construction results of China-Africa vocational standard certificates and the signing ceremony for cooperation projects of the China-Africa TVET Cooperation Consortium.

 

On September 6th, the China-Africa-UNESCO High-Level Dialogue on Cooperation in Education and Cultural Heritage Protection was held at the National Science and Technology Communication Center. Ding Xuezhang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Minister of Education Huai Jinping, in his keynote speech, highlighted the fruitful outcomes of China-Africa educational cooperation and the mutual support and win-win cooperation between China and Africa under the UNESCO platform. The Ministry of Education of China will actively implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's speech at the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, working with African countries and UNESCO to focus on three major actions in the field of educational cooperation: sharing digital education, empowering vocational education, and building teacher capacity. It will continue to deepen cooperation in higher education, basic education, and in the fields of women and youth, build a series of cooperation platforms, and jointly promote the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

As a member unit of the China-Africa TVET Cooperation Consortium, the College has in recent years actively engaged in educational cooperation with Africa, conducting local talent cultivation, teacher training, resource development, and standard construction in Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Egypt, and seven other countries. These efforts have actively contributed to promoting the inclusive development of the Belt and Road rail transit industry and to the advancement of a global community with a shared future for mankind.
