From October 11 to 12, under the guidance of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education and hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the 10th meeting of Chinese-Foreign Joint Education Committee, coinciding with the conference's tenth anniversary, was held in Shanghai. Ding Kuiling, president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Jia Peng, deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, and Ye Linlin, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Vice President Li Fu Sheng was invited to attend the conference and presented a special report at the sub-forum on high-quality development of Sino-foreign cooperative education in higher vocational colleges.
In his report, Li Fu Sheng emphasized that the fundamental purpose of Sino-foreign cooperative education is to introduce high-quality educational resources from abroad and enhance the quality and international competitiveness of higher education talent training in China. Taking our college as an example, he detailed our experiences and practices in aspects such as organizational systems, management models, element construction, and educational outcomes of Sino-foreign cooperative education. He also introduced our college's outstanding achievements in expanding international exchanges and cooperation through cooperative education, deepening connotative construction, and serving the inclusive development of rail transit industry under the Belt and Road initiative.
The theme of this annual conference was Implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Party, and promoting the strategy of revitalizing the country through science and education with high-quality Sino-foreign cooperative education. It aimed to explore new situations, challenges, and missions in the development of Sino-foreign cooperative education, contributing to accelerating the construction of a strong education nation, a strong science and technology nation, and a strong talent nation. Representatives from 193 undergraduate institutions and 20 higher vocational colleges nationwide involved in Sino-foreign cooperative education attended the meeting.
