On 19 August 2024, the college held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Chinese + Vocational Skills summer camp for students from South Ural State Humanities Normal University. The ceremony was attended by Andrey Alexandrovich, Assistant to the Rector of South Ural State Humanities Normal University; Irina Yuryevna, Dean of the Preschool Education Institute; and a seven-member delegation, along with representatives from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, School of International Education, and the School of Locomotive and Rolling Stock.
Wang Wei, Secretary of the CPC International Education School Branch, extended a welcome to the Russian students and highlighted the institution's commitment to international education. He mentioned that the college values its relationship with Russian universities, having recently sent teachers for training in Russia and organized student summer camps where participants visited Moscow and St. Petersburg to experience diverse educational philosophies and cultural environments. Additionally, the college collaborated with Ural State University of Railway Transport in participating in the Russian University Formula Student Competition held in July, where Chinese and Russian students achieved outstanding results through mutual learning and cooperation. The summer camp features a range of activities focused on Chinese traditional culture and high-speed rail technology, aiming to enhance the Russian students' understanding of China and foster friendships.
Irina Yuryevna, during her speech, introduced the university's rich history, distinctive majors, and international education initiatives. She extended a sincere invitation to the college's leaders to attend their 90th-anniversary celebration as honored guests and expressed a desire to further strengthen cultural and educational exchanges. Following her address, a student representative performed the classic Russian song The Evening of the Moscow Outskirts.
South Ural State University, established in 1934, encompasses ten faculties, such as the Preschool Education Institute, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, and the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, providing over a hundred programs at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. The university hosts over 800 international students from more than a dozen countries.
