Delegation from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Visits The College

On October 14th and 15th, a delegation from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, including Graduate School Dean Elmer G. De Jose and Institute of Technology Dean Ramir M. Cruz, visited the college.

On October 14th and 15th, a delegation from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, including Graduate School Dean Elmer G. De Jose and Institute of Technology Dean Ramir M. Cruz, visited the college. The delegation conducted a detailed tour of the on-campus training facilities related to railway disciplines, understood the situation of professional development, and held several working meetings with the college. Principal Ma Yuxia and Vice Principal Li Fusheng met with the guests, along with heads of relevant departments and secondary colleges who participated in this event.

        Principal Ma Yuxia pointed out during the meeting that the college is a higher vocational institution with a distinctive feature in railway professional talent training. Over the past 73 years, it has cultivated a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents for China's railway industry. Currently, focusing on the core proposition of high-quality development, the school is actively advancing industrial-education integration and scientific education integration. By strengthening cooperation with industries, it continuously improves the pertinence and adaptability of talent training. Through continuous innovation in the field of scientific research, it constantly pulls professional construction to new heights. In 2022, the college signed a memorandum of understanding with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines to lay the foundation for bilateral exchanges; in 2023, both schools officially signed an agreement to jointly conduct graduate studies in railway engineering management. Up to now, this project has enrolled two batches of 40 students, and related teaching work is progressing smoothly. In the future, it is hoped that on this basis, both sides will further explore potential for cooperation, expand cooperation space, and promote both schools to achieve new levels of internationalization.

        Elmer G. De Jose stated that the Polytechnic University of the Philippines is the largest comprehensive university in the Philippines and the only one that provides railway professional education. The Filipino side highly values its cooperation with the college and wishes to revise railway professional teaching standards and update curriculum content under Chinese assistance, train professional teachers, and build a unified talent training system covering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs.

Ramir M. Cruz mentioned that the delegation from the Philippines was impressed by the college's experimental training conditions and hoped to arrange for their faculty and students to come to the college for professional study and practical training soon; meanwhile, Filipino students have given very positive feedback on the preliminary teaching effects of the college's teachers and hope for more participation of Chinese teachers in professional discussions and graduation designs. Additionally, the Filipino side also intends to invite senior teachers from the college to serve as expert consultants for professional construction at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

 

 

 

 

 

During the visit, both Chinese and Filipino sides reached a consensus on jointly carrying out a three-year diploma dual-degree program in railway engineering management and preliminarily finalized courses for a four-year undergraduate program in railway engineering management.
