From October 5 to 14, a training group composed of 16 individuals from the Ural State University of Railway Transport and Togliatti State University in Russia, named Chinese Language + Vocational Skills, visited the college. During this period, Vice President Li Fusheng, along with leaders from the International Affairs Office and the School of International Education, extended a warm welcome to the guests.
At the welcoming ceremony, Vice President Li Fusheng welcomed the Russian students and teachers and introduced the development history and international education efforts of the college. He stated that the college places great emphasis on international cooperation and exchange. In 2024, the college organized teacher research trips to Russia and student summer camp activities, as well as several sessions of Chinese Language + Vocational Skills projects for international faculty and students visiting the campus. These activities have provided valuable opportunities for both sides to deepen understanding and enhance friendship. It is hoped that Chinese and Russian universities can further explore collaboration in areas such as international student education, short-term exchange programs, and international scientific research cooperation, achieving corresponding results.
Vladimir, head of the Science and Technology Department at the Ural State University of Railway Transport, mentioned that the two institutions have many years of experience in teacher research and innovation, joint student technical skills development, and faculty training, laying a solid foundation for this autumn camp. He expressed hopes for stronger future cooperation between both parties to contribute to the development of friendly relations between China and Russia. Alexander, Director of the Engineering Center at Togliatti State University and Head of the Automobile Design and Operation Research Laboratory, introduced the educational history of his institution and its educational advantages in fields such as electronics, energy, mechanics, materials science, and automation.
Yuan Yifan, a student from Class 23M1 of the college's railway maintenance program, said in his speech that cultural exchanges between China and Russia date back a long history, from ancient trade journeys along the Silk Road to today's educational cooperation. Each historical moment embodies the wisdom and emotions of the people of both countries. Nowadays, it falls upon the youth of both nations to carry forward the mission of fostering friendship and mutual understanding through various exchange activities.
During the autumn camp, the college's joint teams with the Ural State University of Railway Transport and Togliatti State University participated in the 2024 Formula Student China competition. A total of 23 Chinese and Russian students competed in static and dynamic events, achieving outstanding results. After the competition, the Russian team conducted a display event featuring formula racing cars on the college's Tielong Square. Chinese and Russian students shared their experiences in competitions using Chinese, Russian, and English while discussing topics like vehicle design philosophy and driving techniques.
The autumn camp also organized visits to Luoyang Longmen Grottoes, one of the World Cultural Heritage Sites, and the Central Plains ancient architectural complex in Songshan for the Russian students to appreciate the profound culture of Central China and understand local customs in Henan. Anastasia, a Russian student, mentioned that her experience was immensely beneficial and unforgettable due to competing on equal terms on the racetrack, sharing insights during campus interactions, and learning about local cultures during their study tour in Henan.
In recent years, the college has placed high importance on international exchanges and cooperation, establishing deep partnerships with over 30 prestigious higher education institutions, educational organizations, and multinational corporations across five continents. The college is committed to contributing to enhancing cultural exchanges among nations, promoting excellent Chinese culture, and improving cross-cultural communication skills among students from both China and abroad.
