The opening ceremony for the second graduate class in Railway Engineering Management at the China-Philippines Zhan Tianyou Institute took place online on March 23rd.Engr. Ching, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, along with department heads and secondary college leaders from the college, the teaching team from both Chinese and Philippine sides, and 12 graduate students of the 2024 class attended the ceremony.

The head of the School of Electronic Engineering at the college, representing the Chinese side, warmly welcomed the new graduate students.A cooperation agreement was signed between the college and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in October 2023 to jointly cultivate master's degree students in Railway Engineering Management through a dual-advisor system.In the previous fall, the first cohort of 23 students commenced their two-and-a-half-year academic program.As per the agreement, the Chinese side has taken on the teaching responsibilities and graduation project guidance for six courses such as Railway Safety Engineering, Railway Signaling and Communication Systems, Tunnel Engineering, and Geological Technology, with all tasks proceeding smoothly.Moving forward, the Chinese side plans to further refine the teaching design and curriculum content based on prior teaching experience, aiming to complete the joint training tasks with excellence and contribute positively to the development of the railway industry in the Philippines and the 'Belt and Road' initiative.

Subsequently, Chinese faculty representatives Zhao Mingli and Su Xiangshang outlined the overall teaching plans of the Chinese side and detailed the curriculum for the initial session.Staff from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office demonstrated the use of the online teaching software and addressed the students' inquiries.

The graduate program in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines represents an overseas academic education initiative that the China-Philippines Zhan Tianyou Institute has prioritized from its inception. This program holds significant importance for enhancing the college's international standing and advancing the education of high-level professionals.
