On the morning of April 25th, the 2024 track and field sports meet of the college grandly opened. The opening ceremony was attended by Party Committee Secretary Tian Daomin, Deputy Party Committee Secretary and Discipline Inspection Secretary Xie Qian, and Vice Presidents Ni Ju and Li Fusheng, with Vice President Li Fusheng presiding over the event.

As the 'March of the Athletes' played, the ceremony commenced with five characteristic formations including the national flag, emblem, slogan, red flag, and flower ring, along with 16 student formation teams representing 'Academy + College' and a faculty and staff representative team, entering the venue in succession.
The national flag guard and other formations displayed a tall and mighty presence; the international student formation moved with light steps and an energetic spirit; the faculty and staff formation waved flags and chanted slogans with vigor; the student formations exuded enthusiasm and valor.Each formation marched past the podium with precision, displaying the excellent demeanor of the college's teachers and students, painting a vibrant and colorful portrait of youth, which was met with cheers and warm applause from the audience.

Following the solemn ceremony of raising the national flag and the playing of the national anthem, Xie Qian delivered the opening speech. He expressed the college's gratitude to the staff for their hard work and dedication in preparing for the sports meet, and extended greetings to the athletes and students who had trained diligently for the event.Xie Qian stated that the college has, in recent years, adhered to its strategic positioning of 'rooted in the railway, serving Henan, facing the whole country, and going to the world,' established a development model characterized by 'track-based, integrated development, digital and intelligent empowerment, and an open school,' and embarked on a unique path of cultivating high-end technical and skilled talents for intelligent high-speed rail operation and maintenance, serving the safe and intelligent operation of high-speed rail, marking a period of high-quality and leapfrog development in the college's history.Xie Qian encouraged all teachers and students of the college to continue to embody the spirit of 'being proactive and daring to be the first,' to gather confidence and strength, to write about their striving and dreams, and to work towards a new chapter of high-quality development in the college's cause.
Students Zhou Duanwu and Teacher Zhao Shan took oaths on behalf of the athletes and referees, respectively. The chief referee of the track and field sports meet, Guo Yuyang, announced the rules of the event, while Liu Fuxing, the leader of the sports meet discipline inspection group, detailed the evaluation method for the sportsmanship award.
The opening ceremony was followed by a mass group gymnastics performance featuring nearly 500 students holding umbrellas and waving red flags. They changed formations to a lively rhythm, dancing their youth to the music, in a collective tribute to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China
