On May 10th, a promotion meeting for the construction of the Zhan Tianyou Institute in Tanzania was convened online by the college. The meeting was attended by Deputy Principal John Mahona of the National Institute of Transport of Tanzania, Deputy General Manager Xu Haijun of CIIC International Education Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Vice Principal Li Fusheng, and other relevant personnel.

In his speech, Vice Principal Li Fusheng mentioned that in 2019, a delegation from the college visited Tanzania and signed a Letter of Intent for cooperation with the National Institute of Transport (NIT) of Tanzania, which laid the foundation for joint education cooperation in the field of rail transit. Over the past five years, with the continuous advancement of the 'Belt and Road' initiative, the college has been gathering positive forces from all sides to improve the construction of educational elements and enrich cross-border educational practices, establishing a solid foundation for the construction and operation of the China-Tanzania Zhan Tianyou Institute. The Central Line Standard Gauge Railway project in Tanzania is progressing steadily, and the modernization of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway has also been scheduled. The implementation of these major projects is expected to create a significant demand for talent. The college aims to seize this opportunity to contribute effectively to the construction of a new era of the China-Tanzania community with a shared future.

Deputy Principal John Mahona stated that the National Institute of Transport of Tanzania is a public higher education institution affiliated with the Ministry of Transport of Tanzania, which mainly offers academic education, skill training, scientific research, and social services in the fields of land, water, and air transport. Currently, there is a shortage in the training of talent for electrified railways at the National Institute of Transport, and there is an urgent need to update educational resources, improve the level of teachers, and enhance school conditions. He expressed hope that the construction of the Zhan Tianyou Institute will effectively assist the National Institute of Transport in addressing practical difficulties and make a positive contribution to the development of the rail transit industry in Tanzania.

During the meeting, both Chinese and Tanzanian sides unanimously agreed to establish a working promotion group. The group is tasked with formulating a work plan focused on topics such as curriculum integration, teacher training, resource development, and personnel exchanges, with the aim of accelerating the implementation of the cooperation intentions of both sides.
