On November 19, in the Fifth International Vocational Education Summit held in Qingdao, our college was rated as Top 50 Chinese Vocational Colleges in World Competitiveness and awarded the titles of the Outstanding Unit of China-Africa Education Cooperation and People-to-people Exchange, the Outstanding Member Unit of the National Recognition Information Centre for the United Kingdom, the Sino-German Cooperation Trial and Demonstration Unit of the Sino-German Vocational Technology Education Website and the Outstanding Case of International Cooperation and Exchange for Vocational Education. Kong Fanshi and Dong Lisheng, the school leaders were included in the think tank of the Cloud Institute of Vocational Education Alliance.

The International Vocational Education Summit of 2020 was co-sponsored by the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education, Stuttgart Exhibition Co., Ltd. in Germany and China National Machinery Industry International Co., Ltd. as an annual summit in the Chinese vocational education field. The summit integrates the summit forum, the international cooperation seminar for vocational education, the rating of Top 50 colleges in world competitiveness, the international teacher research and study, the Sino-foreign cooperation achievement exhibition for vocational colleges, and the outstanding international cooperation case collection activity, sharing the best practice and experience in the field of international vocational education and exploring the future international development trend. 560 vocational colleges in China attended the summit and exhibition activities by their representatives.
In recent years, our college actively served the construction of “the Belt and Road”, vigorously developed the cross-border education services, undertook a technician training project for the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway in Kenya, the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway in Ethiopia and the China-Laos railway in Laos one by one, opened a high speed rail teacher training class for the core teachers coming from 5 Russian transportation universities and colleges, established two overseas branches, two teaching schools and one training base in the countries along the “Belt and Road”, totally trained 440 local students and 37 local teachers and cultivated the foreign technology and skill talents in the mode of “order class” with a remarkable result obtained. Many domestic and foreign mainstream media, including People's Daily, the Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation and so on, reported our college continuously, with 45 pieces of news released in total. The award of Top 50 Chinese Vocational Colleges in World Competitiveness and the Outstanding Case of International Cooperation and Exchange for Vocational Education was the best way to commend the above results.
In the Summit Sub-forum and the International Cooperation and Exchange Seminar for China-British Vocational Education, Kong Fanshi was invited to make a speech with the title - Jointly Hit the New Road of Vocational Education for the “Belt and Road” Initiative. He comprehensively introduced the school-running philosophy, practice, achievement and future vision of our college and made a cloud conversation with the vocational education experts and the heads of the vocational colleges coming from British. In the thematic speech, Dong Lisheng delivered a report with the title - New Development of Vocational Education Led by New Concepts. He raised some comments and suggestions for the international school-running of various vocational colleges from the perspectives of mechanism innovation, mode innovation and technology innovation. In the seminar, Cao Jing, a teacher of the College of Nursing shared the progress of the international major recognition with the National Recognition Information Centre for the United Kingdom (UK NARIC) and the preliminary result obtained. In the seminar, our college was appointed as the vice chairman unit and outstanding member unit of the Chinese Council of UK NARIC and Dong Lisheng and Ni Ju, the school leaders were included in the expert database of UK NARIC.
In the Summit Sub-forum and the Second China-Africa Vocational Education Academic Exchange Seminar, Kong Fanshi chaired the collective signing ceremony of the tripartite cooperation and co-construction agreement for the overseas educational project of Chinese vocational colleges in the East-African countries. As a member of the Expert Committee of the China-Africa Technical and Vocational Education Cooperation Alliance, Dong Lisheng reviewed the annual work report and work planning of the alliance and researched and discussed the research topic on overseas cooperation in education. Yang Xiaochun, the vice director of the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange of the Ministry of Education awarded the medal of the Outstanding Unit of China-Africa Education Cooperation and People-to-people Exchange to our college.
In addition, in the international seminar of integration of industry and education for Sino-German vocational education, our college was appointed as the Sino-German Cooperation Trial and Demonstration Unit of the Sino-German Vocational Technology Education Website. In the seminar, Kong Fanshi received the exclusive interview of the media on behalf of the school.
